Camp Week

At Impact Volleyball Camp, you will learn the technical skills that professional volleyball players from all over the world are using in their games — taught to you directly by the pros themselves!

Your camp includes 5 days of intense training with professional volleyball players, a free IVC t-shirt and water bottle… and a pizza party at the end of the week to say WELL DONE!

  • IVC is open to boys and girls entering grades 7-12
  • Each camp is divided into small groups based on skill levels
  • IVC is not an overnight camp
  • Camp runs Monday – Friday from 9:00 – 4:00
Check-in and Groupings
Day one begins with registration check-in. Athletes must bring their e-ticket, minor waiver, and medical questionnaire to check-in in order to participate. Athletes will then be put through basic physical and skills testing to determine their grouping for the remainder of the week. Finally, the intensive week of IVC athlete character strengthening and volleyball skills development begins. The focus of IVC is to improve young athletes’ individual and team play skills as well as strengthen their athletic mental and physical abilities for the best long-term volleyball experience.
Skills Sessions
There will be training sessions for each skill (serving, passing, setting, defense, attacking, blocking) involved in the game. Your pro-coach will demonstrate each skill and break them down from the most basic movements, progressing to more advanced techniques. Selected drills will be facilitated to ensure effective understanding and practice of each skill. Athletes are encouraged to request favorite drills and/or ask for more practice on skills they feel they need it.
Position Specialization Session
Athletes will choose one position (outside, middle, setter) to focus on. The position specialization session will teach IVC athlete’s more advanced techniques for their preferred position.
Game Play
There will be game play everyday. Athletes can practice the techniques they have learned in their skills sessions in a real game setting. The camp will culminate in a tournament on Friday.
Coaches’ Match
Where possible, there will be a special demonstration match between the coaches and local volleyball players. In the past, we have had matches against the Alberta’s Canada Summer Games Team and the 2006 NTCC Champion Team BC. Matches are subject to player availability. They are open to the public, and we ask that spectators donate any amount they like to the IVC Cares Sponsorship Fund.
